Speed Limits For State Roads

Route NJ 81
(a) The rate of speed designated for the certain parts of State Highway Route NJ 81 described in this subsection are hereby established and adopted as the maximum legal rate of speed:
1. In Union County:
i. In the City of Elizabeth:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) 50 MPH between the New Jersey Turnpike Authority/New Jersey Department of Transportation jurisdictional line and Route US 1&9 (approximate mileposts 0.5 and 1.2).
