NJDOT to discuss I-76/I-295 noise walls
The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) will hold a public information center to discuss construction of noise walls on I-76 and I-295 from the base of the Walt Whitman Bridge in Gloucester City to Route 168 in Bellmawr.
The information center will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 1996, at 7:00 PM at the Gloucester City Library, Hudson and Railroad Avenue, Gloucester City.
NJDOT proposes to construct noise walls at various locations along I-76 and I-295 from I-676 in Gloucester City to Route 72 in Mount Laurel. The walls will consist of concrete post and panel structures for the ground-mounted portions of the project and light-weight panels mounted to parapets for portions of the walls traversing bridges.
The $35.6 million project will start next month, with the I-76 section to be completed in November of 1997. The remainder of the project will be completed in December of 1998. The project is 100 percent funded by the Transportation Trust Fund.
