Haley cuts ribbon for Higginsville Road bridge
Transportation Commissioner John J. Haley Jr. will join state and local officials on Tuesday, July 1, 1997, at to reopen the Higginsville Road bridge in Readington Township, which was demolished by a Conrail freight train on May 30.
The NJDOT replaced the bridge at a height of 21 feet to accommodate Conrail freight shipments. Conrail has committed to paying for the work, which is estimated at $400,000.
The work was supervised by staff from the NJDOT’s Divisions of Project Management, and Maintenance and Operations.
