Governor Whitman and Commissioner
Haley
to evaluate NJDOT's winter forces
MEDIA ADVISORY
Join Gov. Christie Whitman and Transportation Commissioner John J. Haley Jr. tomorrow as they inspect New Jersey Department of Transportation’s snow fighting equipment and evaluate the NJDOT’s state of readiness to take on Mother Nature as we move into the winter season.
The Governor and Commissioner will examine NJDOT’s trucks and plows and a salt storage facility. With last week’s minor snowfall in the northern part of the state, it is all the more timely that the "troops" be ready to move out in the event of a statewide snow emergency.
The event will take place at 10 a.m. at the NJDOT’s West Trenton Maintenance Yard located on Bear Tavern Road, just south of Route 95 in Ewing Township.
To get to the West Trenton Maintenance Yard from Route 29, follow Route 29 north to Sullivan Way, take a right on to Sullivan Way (County Route 579) and follow it to just south of the junction with Route 95. Sullivan Way changes name to Bear Tavern Road just north of Upper Ferry Road. The maintenance yard is located on the northbound side of Bear Tavern Road.
