NJDOT to re-adopt
regulations governing traffic controls
The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) is re-adopting regulations governing traffic controls in New Jersey. The regulations cover setting speed limits, restricting parking and stopping, establishing no passing zones, prohibiting right turns on red, and other miscellaneous traffic rules.
NJDOT routinely conducts engineering studies that determine requirements for traffic controls along state highways. The regulations under New Jersey Administrative Codes 16:28; 18:28A; 16:29; 16:30; 16:31; and 16:31A that govern these studies are due for re-adoption.
As part of the administrative process required to approve the re-adoption, NJDOT is seeking input and comment. Comments should be submitted no later that February 19, 1998 to:
