NJDOT Celebrates Black History Month
The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) has scheduled a series of events at its Ewing Township headquarters throughout February to celebrate Black History Month.
"This February marks the 11th annual NJDOT celebration of Black History Month. During the course of the last decade we have honored the rich history, significant contributions and outstanding achievements of African-Americans because they have enriched the lives of all Americans," said Transportation Commissioner John J. Haley Jr. "As we approach the new century it is appropriate that we look prospectively at what the opportunities will be for future achievements and contributions."
Haley said this year’s theme for the NJDOT’s Black History Month celebration is "A New Perspective on Civil Rights/Affirmative Action for the Next Millennium."
