New Division of Motor Vehicles Website
A new Division of Motor Vehicles website containing information on driver licensing, vehicle registration, inspection requirements, and other data that addresses the mostly commonly asked customer questions is now available to computer users, the DMV announced today.
The new website, www.state.nj.us/mvs, is the latest initiative in an ongoing effort to improve customer service, noted Transportation Commissioner John J. Haley, Jr. Last year, a toll-free number to connect in-state callers with the DMV’s customer service center was established. That number, 1-888-486-3339, continues to be available.
"The website offers another way for us to provide information to answer the questions our customers have,@ said DMV Director C. Richard Kamin. AWe will continuously update the website as our programs and procedures change to ensure our customers receive current and useful information.@
Among the information included on the website is:
- location and hours of operation of DMV inspection stations and agencies
- vehicle registration procedures
- driver licensing and testing procedures
- text of the New Jersey Driver’s Manual
- how to order special license plates
The website also contains links through which users can obtain motor vehicle information in other states.
