Transportation Commissioner John J. Haley, Jr. will announce the signing of the E-ZPass project contract
Transportation Commissioner John J. Haley, Jr. will announce the signing of the E-ZPass project contract by the region’s five toll road authorities and the vendor, MFS Network Technologies, at 1 p.m. tomorrow (Wed., May 11) at Exit 9 of the New Jersey Turnpike.
After brief remarks, Commissioner Haley will demonstrate the E-ZPass technology using a temporary prototype set up in one of the toll lanes.
Following the demonstration, Commissioner Haley, New Jersey Turnpike Authority Executive Director Edward Gross and William Thompson, president and COO of MFS Transportation Systems, will brief reporters on the terms of the contract. The briefing will take place at the NJTA headquarters adjacent to the toll lane.
SCHEDULE
1:00 p.m. A prototype E-ZPass lane will be installed in one of the toll lanes at Exit 9 of the New Jersey Turnpike. After brief remarks, a demonstration of the technology will take place.
1:30 p.m. A news conference/briefing on the details of the contract will be held in the large conference room of the New Jersey Turnpike Authority offices. Participating will be:
