Statement from Transportation
Commissioner John J. Haley Jr. on the Results of the
NJ State Police Counterfeit Driver License Investigation
"I applaud the Attorney General and State Police for their perseverance in this investigation, which led to the break up of a major counterfeit driver license ring. This is why we need to move to enhance the security features of our driver licenses. It is the intention of the Department of Transportation to have an upgraded driver license by July 1999. In addition, we are looking at security features on our current photo license to see if they can be improved."
