Governor Whitman Applauds
Passage of Transportation Trust Fund
Governor Christie Whitman today
issued the following statement following the
passage of the Transportation Trust Fund by the Assembly:
"The passage of the Transportation Trust Fund program means that we will be able to continue providing New Jerseyans with the safe and efficient transportation that they deserve as residents of the state. I applaud the work of the Legislature in moving this bill forward.
"Our transportation infrastructure affects everyone. Making sure our bridges and roads are sturdy is a basic function of government whether your daily life includes driving a car, taking a bus, riding a bicycle or taking a walk. As everyone in New Jersey knows, our roads are an integral part of daily life here. Ensuring that they are in good, safe shape is another way we're making New Jersey a better place to live, work and raise a family," said the Governor.
