NJDOT to suspend
construction for Thanksgiving Holiday
Transportation Commissioner James Weinstein today announced that NJDOT is suspending construction activities that impact traffic for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
"We are committed to doing everything we can to help motorists get to their destinations safely and with minimal disruption," the Commissioner said. "Beginning at 6 a.m., Wednesday, November 21, all construction work that affects travel lanes on our highways will be suspended through 12 Noon, Monday, November 26. Lane closures will only be permitted for emergency reasons."
The NJDOT will also be operating Emergency Service Patrols (ESP) to assist motorists with disabled vehicles.
In North Jersey, on I- 80, I-280 and I-287, ESP will operate from 4 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21, and 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 25.
In South Jersey, on I-295, NJ55, NJ42, and I-76/676, the hours of operation are from 4 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21, and Noon to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 25.
