Acting Commissioner Fox
Withdraws New Truck Regulation
Acting Transportation Commissioner James P. Fox today withdrew the recently-proposed regulation governing access for Intrastate 102-inch wide trucks.
“The previous Administration proposed this regulation, and it was developed without the appropriate outreach to local officials and communities affected by it,” the Acting Commissioner said. “The McGreevey Administration and this Department will not take measures that would unwisely ease truck restrictions."
“This Department will do a better job of outreach to mayors and communities on our proposed rules, and will establish a dialogue before such rules are proposed. That is the way the McGreevey Administration does business."
A statement will be published in the New Jersey Register withdrawing the proposal.
