Congestion Buster Task Force to hold public meetings
The legislatively created Congestion Buster Task Force has scheduled three public meetings this month to solicit public input and comments on the issue of controlling traffic congestion in New Jersey. The Congestion Buster Task Force is an advisory group that was created by the Legislature at the last renewal of the state’s Transportation Trust Fund.
The Task Force is charged with studying traffic congestion in New Jersey and making recommendations to the Governor and Legislature on how best to manage traffic congestion. Task Force members include representatives from citizens groups, business groups, mass transit and highway operators, Transportation Management Associations, academic institutions, and other interested parties.
The dates and locations of the Congestion Buster Task Force’s Public Meetings are as follows:
- Tuesday, April 23, 2002, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
NJDOT Multi-Purpose Room, 1035 Parkway Avenue, Ewing, NJ
- Wednesday, April 24, 2002, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
NJDOT Cherry Hill Office, One Executive Campus, Route 70 West, Cherry Hill, NJ
- Tuesday, April 30, 2002, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
NJTPA Offices, One Newark Center, 17th Floor, Newark, NJ
Persons or organizations wishing to attend any of these meetings, or who wish to provide input or make comments to the Task Force, are cordially invited to attend. Persons planning to attend any of these meetings are requested to call 609-530-2038 to make a reservation. Persons making oral presentations are also requested to bring an extra written copy of their remarks to provide to the Task Force.
Handout materials on the work of the Task Force will be provided. There will also be short presentations by Task Force Members on various Task Force activities and congestion related issues. There will be an opportunity for the public to ask questions and have an informal dialogue with Task Force members.
