of 90-year-old Route 49 Salem River bridge this year
3rd Legislative Delegation to join
Commissioner at the site of deficient, movable bridge
Transportation Commissioner Jamie Fox will inspect the soon-to-be replaced Route 49 bridge over the Salem River in City of Salem, Salem County, as part of his ongoing effort to underscore the importance of the Department’s Fiscal Year 2003 Capital Program.
Fox will meet with local officials at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, May 8, 2002 at the bridge, which is located in the City Salem and Pennsville Township.
The Commissioner will be joined by State Senator Stephen M. Sweeney, and Assemblymen Douglas H. Fisher and John J. Burzichelli.
The NJDOT plans to start construction of the replacement bridge in the fall of 2003. The FY2003 Capital Program funds construction for $16.8 million.
