Pt. Pleasant Beach Receives
Downtown Improvement Funds
(Pt. Pleasant Beach) - Transportation Commissioner Jamie Fox today presented a check for $1,000,000 to Pt. Pleasant Beach Mayor John Pasola for downtown improvements along Arnold Avenue. The check presentation took place on along the Boro's business district.
"I'm here in support of Pt. Pleasant Beach's efforts to spur economic growth within its downtown," Commissioner Fox said. "Time has proven that when we invest in our downtowns, everyone benefits - business owners, residents and visitors. I can't imagine a town with more to capitalize on than Pt. Pleasant Beach."
The improvements, which will occur along Arnold Avenue between Kramer Avenue and Route 35 and along Bay Avenue from Arnold Avenue to Trenton Avenue will include:
- Installation of ornamental lighting and trash receptacles
- Installation of wooden benches
- Installation of decorative red brick-like pavers along the sidewalk
- Planting of 13 pear trees
- Installation of handicap-accessible sidewalk ramps
- Minor road resurfacing
