Shark River bridge work to begin on Tuesday
Traffic to be shifted onto Route 71 during hours of work
Major construction work on the Route 35 Shark River bridge will begin again on Tuesday, September 17, 2002.
"I'm pleased that we are finally able to begin the beam installation process again," said Transportation Commissioner Jamie Fox. "We have worked extensively with the contractor and the U.S. Coast Guard to ensure that the revised plan is safe and practical. Area residents have been extremely patient and cooperative, and we are committed to working with them closely as we proceed with this work."
Beginning Tuesday, September 17, 2002, the South Channel of the Shark River will be closed between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
This closure will occur between Monday and Thursday, weather permitting, of successive weeks until 21 days are achieved for the beam installation process.
During this work, Route 35 will be closed and traffic will be shifted on Route 71.
