Department of Transportation proposes to readopt rules on soil erosion and sediment control standards
The New Jersey Department of Transportation is proposing to readopt with minor amendments N.J.A.C. 16:25A, the rules governing the Department's soil erosion and sediment control standards.
N.J.A.C. 16:25A articulates the vegetative and engineering standards the Department uses when certifying soil erosion and sediment control plans for use in its construction projects. The standards were developed jointly by the Departments of Agriculture, Environmental Protection and Transportation. The Department meets the requirements of the Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Act, N.J.S.A. 4:29-39 et seq. by preparing and filing such certifications with the appropriate Soil Conservation District.
The Department is proposing to readopt the chapter with technical amendments to improve readability and to provide current telephone and address information to use when requesting copies of the standards.
The proposal appears in the May 5, 2003 issue of the New Jersey Register. The public has until July 4, 2003 to comment on the proposal. Persons wishing to comment on the proposal must provide their comments in writing to Patricia K. Snyder, Acting Administrative Practice Officer, NJ Department of Transportation, 1035 Parkway Avenue, P O Box 600, Trenton, NJ 08625-0600, Fax: (609) 530-3841. Comments must be postmarked or sent by telefacsimile on or before July 4, 2003, which is the close of the 60-day public comment period.
