NJDOT holds
Public Information Center meeting for Route 9 and Tilton Road
in Northfield
Trenton
– On Tuesday, May 18, the New Jersey Department of Transportation
will conduct a Public Information Center meeting regarding Route
9 and Tilton Road intersection improvements, at the Northfield
City Hall at 1600 Shore Road from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. (More
Information)
The purpose
of the Public Information Center is to inform local residents,
officials and the business community of NJDOT's preliminary design
for the reconstruction of the intersection of Route 9 and Tilton
Road.
The Route
9/Tilton Road intersection has been identified as a high-level
accident area. The proposed plan provides for safety measures
and capacity improvements by installing left-turn lanes with concrete
islands on Route 9, driveway access modifications, improved right-turn
lanes on Route 9, additional through lanes on northbound and southbound
Tilton Road, new signalization and improved drainage.
NJDOT representatives
will be on hand to answer questions and to explain the project.
Maps and plans will be available for public review and
comment.
