NJDOT
announces closure of I-495 westbound ramp for
railing repairs
(Trenton) - The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) today announced
that traffic will be closed on the westbound Route I-495 ramp
to Route 1 & 9 South in North Bergen, Essex County, from Thursday,
September 29 th at 9:30 a.m. until Friday, September 30 th at
5:00 a.m.
NJDOT
will work overnight to replace a bridge railing damaged in a September
17 automobile accident. All Route I-495 westbound lanes will remain
open during the repair work.
NJDOT
will place Variable Message Signs (VMS) at strategic locations
to inform motorists of the ramp closure. Motorists traveling
from Route I-495 to Route 1 & 9 will be directed to detour
onto Route 3 West Service Road to Paterson Plank Road to Route
1 & 9.
NJDOT
asks that motorists obey posted speed limits in construction zones
for their safety as well as the safety of workers rehabilitating
the railing.
