NJDOT
suspends construction for
upcoming holiday weekends
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) Commissioner
Jack Lettiere today announced that NJDOT is suspending all construction
activities that impact traffic for the upcoming holiday weekends.
"The
New Jersey Department of Transportation will take all appropriate
steps to improve safety and mobility as New Jersey residents celebrate
the holidays," said Commissioner Lettiere.
NJDOT
at 6:00 a.m. on Friday, December 23 will suspend all construction
work that affects travel lanes on state highways. NJDOT will continue
the suspension until noon on Tuesday, December 27 .
NJDOT
also will suspend construction work that affects travel lanes
on state highways from 6:00 a.m. on Friday, December 30 until
noon on Tuesday, January 3.
NJDOT
will permit lane closures for emergency reasons only.
NJDOT also will expand its Emergency Service Patrol (ESP) operation
to assist motorists with disabled vehicles throughout New Jersey.
In
addition, NJDOT will staff its Traffic Operations Centers throughout
both holiday weekends. Motorists can view real-time
