announces weekend lane
closures for Route 139 in Jersey City
(Trenton) - The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) today announced lane closures on the lower roadways of the 12th and 14th Street Viaducts in Jersey City from Friday, March 10 through Sunday, March 12, 2006.
In anticipation of the start of the second phase of construction on the Route 139 Holland Tunnel Approaches rehabilitation project, construction crews will replace the roadway's current barrier curb with a movable barrier curb. Crews also will re-stripe portions of the roadway and rearrange traffic control devices such as drums, barricades, and cones.
The alternating lane closure schedule over the weekend is as follows:
Friday, March 10 at 10 p.m. through Saturday, March 11 at 10 a.m.:
Saturday, March 11 at 10 a.m. through Saturday, March 11 at 11 a.m.:

The lower roadway of the westbound 14th Street Viaduct will be CLOSED.

The right lane exiting the lower roadway of the westbound 14th Street Viaduct to Palisade Avenue will be CLOSED.

The left lane on the lower roadway of the eastbound 12th Street Viaduct will be CLOSED.
