Governor Corzine signs waiver of hours of service rules extending

Pursuant
to N.J.S.A App. A:9-33 te seq., and in light of Federal Motor
Carrier Safety Administration regulation 49 C.F.R. Part 390.23(a)(1)(i),
which allows for an exemption to the hours of service regulations
in 49 C.F.R. Part 395 upon declaration of emergency by the Governor
or an authorized representative, the Governor hereby declares
an emergency due to spot shortages of motor fuel related to a
combination of blending requirements and volatility of the price
of fuel. The emergency is limited to the following:
Type
of Operation: Intrastate delivery of motor fuels retailing
establishments.
Type
of Exemption: Restriction of the number of hours that
a driver of a commercial motor carrier may drive without a ten-hour
period of rest.
