NJDOT to suspend construction for upcoming holiday weekends
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) Commissioner Kris Kolluri today announced that NJDOT is suspending all construction activities that impact traffic for the upcoming holiday weekends.
"The New Jersey Department of Transportation will take all appropriate measures to ensure safety and mobility as New Jersey residents celebrate the holidays," said Commissioner Kolluri.
NJDOT at 6 a.m. on Friday, December 22 will suspend all construction work that affects travel lanes on state highways. NJDOT will continue the suspension until noon on Tuesday, December 26.
NJDOT also will suspend construction work that affects travel lanes on state highways from 6 a.m. on Friday, December 29 until noon on Tuesday, January 2, 2007.
NJDOT will permit lane closures for emergency reasons only.
NJDOT also will expand its Emergency Service Patrol (ESP) operation to offer roadway assistance and towing to motorists with disabled vehicles throughout New Jersey.
