NJDOT announces emergency bridge deck repair on I-287 southbound in South Plainfield
(Trenton) - Commissioner Kris today announced that on Friday, April 13, 2007, the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) will perform overnight emergency bridge deck repair work on the southbound travel lanes of the Interstate 287 Bridge over Durham Avenue in South Plainfield, Middlesex County.
Beginning Friday night at 9:30 p.m., two of the three lanes will be closed for construction. The lanes will reopen on Saturday morning, April 14 by 9:00 a.m. One southbound lane will remain open on Route 287 at all times.
The lane closures will not affect the Route 287 northbound traffic. Portable Variable Message Signs will be placed along Route 287 to inform motorists of the lane closures.
Emergency Service Patrol vehicles will be present until midnight to assist motorists in and around the construction area. Real time travel and construction information is available online at www.njcommuter.com for emergency information.
