NJDOT announces emergency repair work on Route 29 in Ewing Township
(Trenton) New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) Commissioner Kris Kolluri today announced that beginning Monday, May 21, NJDOT emergency crews will be working on Route 29 southbound in the vicinity of milepost 10 in Ewing Township to repair damage to the roadway from a recent rain storm. Permanent repairs are needed to ensure against future failure of the shoulder at that location.
This work will take approximately 10 work days to complete and will require the detour of the northbound Route 29 traffic onto local streets between the hours of 9 .a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Southbound traffic will be diverted over to the northbound side and will be directed through the construction area.
The detour route will be as follows:
• Route 29 northbound to Scenic Drive, Scenic Drive left onto Bear Tavern Road, Bear Tavern Road left onto Mountain View Drive, Mountain View Drive back to Route 29 northbound.
Should this detour prove to be an undue burden on the local streets and residents, NJDOT will consider alternate methods of traffic management, including alternating traffic in both directions so that no traffic will have to be routed off of Route 29.
Motorists are encouraged to drive carefully to protect themselves and workers in the construction zone.
