Department of Transportation proposing to readopt rules on aeronautical investigation and enforcement
(Trenton) - The New Jersey Department of Transportation is proposing to readopt with amendment and a new rule N.J.A.C. 16:60, the rules governing the Department’s regulations on Aeronautical Investigation and Enforcement. The rules outline the specific steps to be followed in reporting aircraft accidents, incidents, and forced landings and delineate the State's responsibilities for assistance in case of such events and investigations subsequent thereto. The rules also describe the procedures for the issuance of summons and complaints and empower specific employees of the Division of Aeronautics with the authority to function as law enforcement officers in compliance with the provisions of Title 6 of the New Jersey Statutes.
The proposed rule appears in the July 16, 2007 issue of the New Jersey Register. The public has until September 14, 2007 to comment on the proposal.
