NJDOT releases interim report on bridges
(Trenton) - In response to Governor Jon S. Corzine’s August 2 directive, Commissioner Kris Kolluri today released the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT)’s Interim Report on Bridges (pdf 3.14).
The interim report was delivered at a press conference held in the shadow of the Route 1&9 Pulaski Skyway in Newark and was attended by US Senators Frank Lautenberg and Bob Menendez.
The report details the number of bridges located in the state and each bridge’s jurisdiction of control and structural condition. In addition, it provides the dates of each bridge’s most recent and upcoming inspections.
NJDOT will synthesize this data and produce a formal report that will include a capital investment strategy to ensure all public bridges are in a state of good repair.
