NJDOT announces Route 93 resurfacing and drainage improvements in Leonia, Bergen County
(Trenton) - Commissioner Kris Kolluri today announced that the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) starting August 20 will resurface and improve drainage on Route 93 in Leonia, Bergen County.
“The Route 93 drainage improvements project reflects NJDOT’s commitment to ensuring roadway safety for New Jersey’ motorists,” said Commissioner Kolluri. “Our efforts on Route 93 will improve driving conditions by rectifying drainage deficiencies.”
NJDOT will improve storm water drainage on Route 93 from Oakdene Avenue to Christie Heights Street by installing larger drain pipes and additional curbside inlets. The $7.3 million project also will include resurfacing and sidewalk and curb repair.
Starting August 20, the project will entail the following weekday detours:
• Motorists traveling on Route 93 northbound will be diverted onto Broad Avenue at Central Blvd and will return to Route 93 via Ft. Lee Road.
No detour will be imposed on weekends. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2008.
NJDOT will install Variable Message Signs on Route 93 to notify motorists of upcoming traffic pattern changes. Motorists can also access real-time traffic information online at www.njcommuter.com.
