NJDOT to resurface Route 47 in Vineland
(Trenton) -Commissioner Kris Kolluri today announced that on Monday, August 27 the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) will begin a $1.9 million resurfacing project on Route 47 from north of Oak Road to south of Forest Grove Road in Vineland, Cumberland County.
“Preserving the pavement will optimize roadway quality and safety along this busy stretch of Route 47 in Vineland,” noted Kolluri.
NJDOT will mill and repave two inches of asphalt on Route 47. The existing roadway is severely deteriorated, which is reflected by ruts, cracks and potholes. The roadway shoulders will also be repaved.
Crews will resurface the roadway overnight with single lane closures in order to minimize traffic impacts during construction. Shoulder closures during peak hours and single-lane closures during off-peak hours may also be necessary. The resurfacing project is scheduled to be complete by mid-November 2007.
NJDOT will install Variable Message Signs (VMS) on Route 47 to inform motorists of any change in traffic patterns during operations. Real time travel and construction information is available online at www.njcommuter.com
