NJDOT announces Route 55 resurfacing
project in Gloucester County
(Trenton) -Commissioner Kris Kolluri today announced
that starting September 10 the New Jersey Department of Transportation
(NJDOT) will resurface a nine mile segment of Route 55 northbound
and southbound in Deptford, Mantua and Washington Township in Gloucester
County.
Resurfacing Route 55 will improve safety on one of South Jerseys
busiest corridors and help prepare for the tremendous economic and
population growth that this region is experiencing, said NJDOT
Commissioner Kris Kolluri.
The $9 million project is scheduled for completion in August 2008.
In order to facilitate construction, NJDOT will implement overnight
single lane closures on northbound and southbound Route 55. Late
night detours may be required and will be announced in advance.
NJDOT has placed Variable Message Signs along the Route 55 corridor
to alert motorists of the upcoming traffic changes. Additional information
