NJDOT to resume Route 29 rehabilitation project in Lambertville

(Trenton) - Commissioner Kris Kolluri today announced that the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) will resume its $11 million rehabilitation project on Route 29 in Lambertville, Hunterdon County. As part of the project, NJDOT will temporarily change the traffic pattern on Route 29 in Lambertville from Wednesday, March 12 through April 15.

"Route 29 is one of the state's vital scenic corridors," said Commissioner Kolluri. "NJDOT's Route 29 rehabilitation project will ensure the safety of the high volume of tourist and pedestrian traffic
that regularly use the corridor."

NJDOT will pave and stripe Route 29 from Jefferson Street to south of Bridge Street. In order to facilitate construction, NJDOT will detour southbound traffic right onto Delaware Avenue, left onto North Union Street, left onto Bridge Street and back to Route 29. During the detour, North Union Street will be open to one lane of one-way traffic southbound. Northbound Route 29 will remain open to traffic and northbound North Union Street traffic will be diverted to northbound Route 29.

The $11 million rehabilitation project consists of a complete reconstruction of Route 29 from Mount Hope Street to Arnett Avenue, including new paving, curbing, sidewalks and drainage.
