NJDOT plans roadway rehabilitation on
Route 202 in Hunterdon and Somerset Counties
(Trenton) - Commissioner Kris Kolluri today announced that the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) will resurface Route 202 in Bedminster, Branchburg, Bridgewater, and Raritan Borough in Somerset County and Raritan Township and Readington in Hunterdon County. The $8.5 million project also includes new curbs and sidewalks.
"NJDOT is committed to providing our residents with safer highways and extending the useful life of our infrastructure,” said Commissioner Kolluri.
Starting Monday March 24, 2008, NJDOT will temporarily close lanes and shoulders. Resurfacing will start at the south end of the project in Raritan and progress north to Bedminster.
On northbound Route 202 from Case Boulevard in Raritan Township to Old York Road in Branchburg, NJDOT will close one lane and the shoulder on Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. On weekends, NJDOT will close one lane and the shoulder Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. to Saturday at 8 a.m., on Saturday from 8 p.m. to Sunday at 8 a.m. and on Sunday from 9 p.m. to Monday at 6 a.m.
On northbound Route 202 from the railroad crossing to south of Route 22 in Bridgewater, NJDOT will close one lane and the shoulder on Monday through Thursday from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. On weekends, NJDOT will close one lane and the shoulder on Friday from 10 p.m. to Saturday at 8 a.m., from Saturday at 9 p.m. to Sunday at 8 a.m. and from Sunday at 8 p.m. to Monday at 6 a.m.
On northbound Route 202 from Commons Way to Brown Road in Bridgewater and from Plunkemin Way to South of Miller Lane in Bedminster, NJDOT will close one lane and the shoulder on Monday through Thursday from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. On weekends, NJDOT will close one lane and the shoulder from Friday at 10 p.m. to Saturday at 8 a.m., from Saturday at 9 p.m. to Sunday at 8 a.m. and from Sunday at 8 p.m. to Monday at 6 a.m.
On southbound Route 202 from Thompson Street in Raritan Borough to South of Route 22 in Bridgewater, from south of Cross Street to Brown Road in Bridgewater and from Plunkemin Way to south of Miller Lane in Bedminster, NJDOT will close one lane and the shoulder on Monday through Thursday from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. On weekends, NJDOT will close one lane and the shoulder from Friday at 10 p.m. to Saturday at 8 a.m., from Saturday from 9 p.m. to Sunday at 8 a.m. and from Sunday from 8 p.m. to Monday at 6 a.m.
NJDOT will complete the project in September 2008.
