NJDOT announces traffic pattern change on Route 93 in Leonia
(Trenton) - Department of Transportation (NJDOT) Commissioner Kris Kolluri today announced the upcoming traffic pattern change to Route 93 in Leonia and Palisades Park, Bergen County. The new traffic pattern will enable NJDOT to resurface Route 93 over the newly constructed drainage system.
Route 93 will be closed in both directions between West Palisades Avenue and Hillside Avenue Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Work will begin on Monday, April 7 weather permitting. The closure will continue weekly for approximately five weeks.
This traffic pattern will entail the following weekday detours:
• Route 93 northbound detour - Right onto West Palisades Boulevard, left onto Broad Avenue, left onto Hillside Avenue and right to continue on Route 93 northbound.
• Route 93 southbound detour - Left onto Hillside Avenue, right onto Broad Avenue, right onto West Edsall Boulevard and left to continue on Route 93 southbound.
NJDOT is improving storm water drainage on Route 93 from Oakdene Avenue to Christie Heights Street by installing larger drain pipes and additional curbside inlets. The $7.3 million project also will include resurfacing and sidewalk and curb repair. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2008.
NJDOT has installed variable message signs on Route 93 to notify motorists of upcoming traffic pattern changes. Motorists can also access real-time traffic information online at www.njcommuter.com.
