NJDOT announces Route 80 westbound
resurfacing and bridge repair project in Passaic County

(Trenton) – The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) today announced the start of a $4.1 million resurfacing and bridge repair project on Route 80 westbound in Totowa, West Paterson and Wayne, Passaic County.

“This project will prolong the life of the roadway and improve safety for the residents of Passaic County,” said Governor Jon S. Corzine.

On Monday, March 23, NJDOT will begin bridge deck repairs on Route 80 westbound from west of Route 23 in Wayne to east of Squirrelwood Road in West Paterson. Two lanes of Route 80 westbound will be closed from March 23 at 10 p.m. to March 24 at 5 a.m., and during the same hours from March 24 to March 25.

As many as three lanes may be closed overnight during construction. In addition, single lane closures may be necessary on Mondays through Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

NJDOT will repair three bridge decks and resurface nearly four miles of Route 80. The project is scheduled for completion in June 2009.
