(Trenton) - The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) today announced upcoming pavement repair work on Route 42 from the Atlantic City Expressway entrance to Clements Bridge Road/County Route 544 in Washington Township, Gloucester County and Deptford Township, Camden County.
“Roadway safety is critical to New Jersey’s quality of life and economic vitality,” said Governor Jon S. Corzine. “NJDOT will improve the safety of the pavement on this major shore route with minimal impacts to motorists.”
Beginning Tuesday, April 21, NJDOT will begin temporary overnight lane closures on Mondays to Thursdays from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next day, and from Friday nights at 11 p.m. to 8 a.m. on Saturday mornings. The closures will take place on the southbound side of the roadway through early July and will then shift to the northbound side.
