NJDOT announces closure of
Route 173 over Pohatcong Creek
(Trenton) - The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) today announced the upcoming closure of Route 173 over the Pohatcong Creek in Greenwich Township, Warren County.
On Monday, May 4, at 9 a.m. NJDOT will close Route 173 in the vicinity of milepost 1.5 at Ravine Road, for underwater structural repairs and inspection of the bridge over the Pohatcong Creek. The bridge will reopen by Monday, May 18.
- During the closure, Route 173 eastbound traffic will take I-78 eastbound to Exit 6 to Route 173 eastbound.
- During the closure, Route 173 westbound traffic will take I-78 westbound to Exit 3 to Route 173 westbound.
Construction will cost approximately $350,000. NJDOT will utilize variable message signs on Route 173 and I-78 to advise motorists of the traffic pattern changes. Real time travel and construction information is available online at www.511nj.org.
