NJDOT announces $5.5 million Route 295
resurfacing project in Bordentown and Hamilton

(Trenton) - Commissioner Stephen Dilts today announced that the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) starting May 18 will resurface Route 295 in both directions from the Route 29/I-195 Interchange in Hamilton Township, Mercer County to Route 130 in Bordentown, Burlington County. The project includes the Delaware River scenic overlook in Bordentown.

“Resurfacing this four-mile stretch of Route 295 and the scenic overlook will improve safety for the 60,000 vehicles that use this critical corridor each day,” said Governor Jon S. Corzine.

Construction will begin on the southbound lanes in Hamilton. Overnight single lane closures may take place from 8 p.m. to on Mondays to Thursdays from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next day and from Fridays to Sundays from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning. Overnight double-lane closures may occur from Mondays to Thursdays from 9:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next day, from Fridays at 9:30 p.m. to 8 a.m. on Saturdays, from Saturdays at 9 p.m. to 10 a.m. on Sundays, and from Sundays at 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Mondays.

Construction of the $5.5 million project is scheduled for completion in December 2009.
