NJDOT proposing to readopt rules
for the 'I BOAT NJ' program
(Trenton) - The New Jersey Department of Transportation is proposing to readopt with amendments N.J.A.C. 16:63, the rules establishing the eligibility criteria and application procedures for the 'I BOAT NJ' program within the Office of Maritime Resources. The program benefits the boating public by promoting, improving and enhancing the marine industry in New Jersey through grant funding financed by boat registration fees. The proposed amendments remove unnecessary language, add definitions, correct a website and other contact information, clarify and update procedures and bring the rules into compliance with Department policies.
The proposed rule appears in the September 8, 2009 issue of the New Jersey Register. The public has until November 7, 2009 to comment on the proposal. Persons wishing to comment on the proposal must provide their comments in writing to Miriam Weeks, Administrative Practice Officer, NJ Department of Transportation, PO Box 600, Trenton, NJ 08625-0600. Fax: 609.530.3841. Comments must be postmarked or sent by telefacsimile on or before November 7, 2009 which is the close of the 60-day public comment period.
Comments submitted to the Department on the proposed rulemaking are public records and are available for public inspection by prior appointment during normal Department business hours.
