NJDOT reopens recently rebuilt
Harter Road Bridge over I-287 in Morris Township
(Trenton) - The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) today announced that as of noon on Saturday, December 20, the new Harter Road bridge over I-287 has been opened to traffic in Morris Township, Morris County.
NJDOT closed Harter Road to traffic in July in order to reconstruct the bridge deck on Harter Road over I-287 in Morris Township, Morris County. The new $1,288,770 Harter Road structure has replaced the old, structurally deficient bridge over I-287. NJDOT also has resurfaced a 0.4 mile stretch of Harter Road and installed new guide rail.
“The rehabilitated Harter Road bridge exemplifies NJDOT’s commitment to improving New Jersey infrastructure network and will provide safer driving conditions for local traffic in Morris Township,” said Commissioner Stephen Dilts.
