Construction complete on Park Avenue bridge replacement over Route 3 in Rutherford and Lyndhurst

(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) Commissioner Jim Simpson today announced the completion of a project to replace the Park Avenue Bridge over Route 3 in Rutherford Borough and Lyndhurst Township, Bergen County.

“The Park Avenue Bridge replacement reflects the State of New Jersey’s commitment to improve the condition of our bridges and infrastructure statewide,” said Commissioner Simpson.

The new Park Avenue structure carries two lanes of traffic in each direction with left turn movements at the intersections of Park Avenue and Rutherford Avenue and Park Avenue and Marginal Road.

The $9.8 million project began construction in December, 2008 and also included drainage improvements, roadway resurfacing, sidewalk installation and curb installation on the Park Avenue approaches to the new bridge.
