Garden State Parkway ramp to
Route 80 eastbound to be closed nightly
(Trenton) - The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) announced today that the Garden State Parkway (GSP) Interchange 159 ramp to Route 80 eastbound in Elmwood Park will be closed for the installation of new guide rail.
On Monday night, August 9, NJDOT will close the ramp to I-80 eastbound for approximately four nights for ramp reconstruction work. The closures will take place nightly from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. the next morning and all work is expected to be complete by Thursday, August 12.
During the closure GSP motorists seeking to access I-80 eastbound will be directed onto I-80 westbound to River Drive, to make a U-turn at River Drive onto I-80 eastbound.
The closure is necessary as part of a $15 million project that is resurfacing and repairing I-80 eastbound from milepost 58.2 to milepost 65.4 in the townships of Elmwood Park, Saddle Brook, Lodi and Hackensack City in Bergen County and Paterson City in Passaic County. Construction began in August 2009 and completion is anticipated this winter.
