Emergency Route 1 repairs to take place this weekend in West Windsor
(Trenton) - The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) announced today that an emergency drainage repair and resurfacing operation will take place this weekend on Route 1 northbound in West Windsor, Mercer County.
Beginning Friday, October 8, at 8 p.m. NJDOT will close the right lane on Route 1 northbound between Fisher Place and Harrison Street until approximately 5 a.m., Monday October 11. Traffic will be shifted to the left with two lanes maintained during day time hours. A second lane may be closed from 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday to 10 a.m. the following morning and from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday morning.
The work is necessary to repair and upgrade the drainage system underneath Route 1 and to resurface the damaged roadway at this location. The existing drainage pipe has partially collapsed, leading to minor pavement failures on the highway.
NJ State Police will assist with traffic management during the work. NJDOT provides emergency roadway information, construction schedule updates and real time traffic information and images at www.511nj.org
