Reconstructed Route 30/Baird Boulevard ramps reopen in Camden

(Trenton) - The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) announced that two on/off ramps at the Route 30 interchange with Baird Boulevard have been reopened to traffic in Pennsauken and Camden, Camden County.

NJDOT this morning reopened the reconstructed Route 30 eastbound exit ramp to Baird Boulevard southbound, as well as the entrance ramp from Baird Boulevard southbound to Route 30 eastbound. Any closures and/or traffic detours associated with this project are no longer in effect.

The on-going $7.8 million Route 30 Cooper River drainage improvement project began in August 2009.

NJDOT is finishing up work to install a new drainage system featuring four new outfalls into the Cooper River with an earth berm to help prevent high tide waters from reaching the local ramps. NJDOT has also resurfaced Route 30 within the project limits. New sidewalks and curbing along Route 30 between mileposts 2.1 and 3 are being installed as well.

The project, which is expected to significantly reduce the instances in which high water causes lane closures, is anticipated to be completed in late-November.
