NJDOT to repave Route 64 in West Windsor
(Trenton) - The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) today announced that Route 64 will be closed to traffic for resurfacing operations this week in West Windsor Township, Mercer County.
NJ State Route 64 is the 0.3-mile extension of CR 571 (Princeton-Hightstown Road) that crosses over the Northeast Corridor rail line between Cranbury Road/Wallace Road and Washington Road.
In order to resurface the short highway and bridge, NJDOT will close Route 64 overnight from 9 p.m. to approximately 6 a.m. for an estimated three consecutive nights – Wednesday, December 1, Thursday, December 2 and Friday, December 3. NJDOT scheduled the work overnight so as to minimize the impact to commuters. All work is weather dependent.
Route 1 and CR 571 traffic, as well as all motorists destined for the Princeton Junction Train Station, will be detoured onto Alexander Road, which runs parallel to CR 571.
NJDOT will utilize variable message signs on Route 1 to advise motorists of the closures and detours. Real time travel and construction information is available online at www.511nj.org
