Single lane to be closed on Route 9 ramp
to Route 440 in Woodbridge
(Trenton) - NJDOT today announced that drainage improvement work will require the closure of one lane on the Route 9 northbound ramp connection to Route 440 southbound/I-287 northbound in Woodbridge for up to one month. If the work is completed earlier, the lane will be reopened accordingly.
This is a three lane ramp that connects motorists to Route 440 southbound, I-287 northbound and Raritan Center. At the end of the ramp, two lanes split off to Route 440 and I-287 and one lane goes to Raritan Center.
Beginning on or about Monday, February 6, NJDOT will close the left-lane of the two lane portion of the ramp to Route 440 and I-287 for approximately 1000 feet to allow NJDOT’s contractors, Total Center Maintenance and National Water Main, to perform necessary drainage pipe clearing and repair work. The right lane will be maintained during construction.
The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website www.511nj.org for construction updates and real-time travel information.
