Municipal sewer work requiring overnight closures on Route 28 in Elizabeth
(Trenton) - An ongoing municipal sewer repair project will require overnight closures of Route 28 (Westfield Avenue) eastbound between Elmora Avenue and Grove Street beginning next week in Elizabeth City, Union County.
Route 28 eastbound will be fully closed to traffic at the Elmora Avenue intersection each weekday night between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next morning for approximately the next four weeks. Route 28 will remain open during the day and on Friday and Saturday nights.
• Route 28 eastbound will be directed to take Elmora Avenue to West Grand Street to Grove Street back to Route 28.
The work is being performed under a regional Utility Permit allowing the City’s contractor access to the state highway to make the necessary underground sewer modifications.
