(Trenton) - NJDOT officials today announced an overnight closure of the Lovelandtown Bridge on the unsigned Route 13 in Point Pleasant Borough this week.
The bridge is scheduled to be closed from 9 p.m. Wednesday night, April 11 to around 6 a.m. on Thursday, April 12 for operating system testing on the vertical lift bridge.

• Bridge Avenue/Route 13 westbound motorists will be directed to use Bay Avenue north to Route 88 westbound to Beaver Dam Road south to Bridge Avenue.
Route 13 is a half-mile, state-maintained portion of existing Ocean County Route 632 (Bridge Avenue) that begins just west of Hollywood Avenue in Point Pleasant Borough, spans the Point Pleasant Canal and returns to CR 632 east of Bay Avenue (CR 604) in Bay Head Borough.
The Point Pleasant Canal is a part of the Intracoastal Waterway, a protected 1,500-mile inland water highway that runs from Maine to Florida. The United States Coast Guard requires that NJDOT open the bridge ‘on demand’ for any approaching vessel.
The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are also encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website for construction updates and real-time travel information.
