NJDOT extends comment period for Pre-Proposal repealing and replacing rules on State Highway Access Management Code
(Trenton) - The New Jersey Department of Transportation is considering repealing and replacing N.J.A.C. 16:47, State Highway Access Management Code. This chapter establishes guidelines and procedures to manage vehicular traffic to and from State highways. In order to elicit public comment, the Department filed a Pre-Proposal which was published in the November 5, 2012 issue of the New Jersey Register. Due to the recent events surrounding Hurricane Sandy and its impact on county and municipal governing bodies, boards, commissions, agencies, and authorities, the Department is extending the comment period for the pre-proposed repeal and new rules. A formal proposal will be filed at a later date.
The public has until January 14, 2013 to comment on the pre-proposal. Persons wishing to comment on the pre-proposal must provide their comments in writing to Miriam Weeks, Administrative Practice Officer, NJ Department of Transportation, P.O. Box 600, Trenton, NJ 08625-0600. Faxes may be sent to (609) 530-3841. Comments must be postmarked or sent by telefacsimile on or before January 14, 2013 which is the close of the 40-day extended public comment period.
