Overnight closure announced for Interstate 295 southbound Al-Jo Curve at I-76/Route 42 interchange
Safety barrier, highway lighting and other work needed
in Camden County

To create a safe and efficient work zone for the crews to attack all the 'Clean Up NJ' maintenance needs of this ramp, the connection will be closed to motorists from 10 p.m. Saturday, January 5 until around 9 a.m. Sunday, January 6.

• I-295 southbound motorists will be directed to take I-76 northbound via Exit 26, use the Market Street exit to U-turn onto I-76 southbound to I-295 southbound or to Route 42 southbound.

NJDOT maintenance crews and contractors will work through the night repairing damaged barrier curb and guide-rail, re-energizing street lights along the ramp. In addition, Department crews will conduct tree trimming, litter and debris removal, street sweeping and clean drainage inlets. NJDOT scheduled the closure during overnight hours to minimize the impact to motorists. NJ State Police will assist with traffic management during the overnight closure.

Final barrier curb work will require a subsequent closure of the shoulder and one lane on the ramp next week.
