Long term lane closures announced
for Route 20 in Paterson
Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission utility access permit project to reduce capacity in both directions of the highway
for around four months
(Trenton) - NJDOT officials today announced that a Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission (PVSC) underground sewer pipe rehabilitation project will require a long term traffic pattern change on Route 20 (McClean Boulevard) in both directions in Paterson City, Passaic County.
As of last weekend, the utility contractor – Cruz Contractors – had closed the left travel lane in each direction on Route 20 between 18th and 20th Avenues, thereby reducing the highway from three travel lanes in each direction to two travel lanes in each direction. The lane closures were implemented with concrete barrier and are expected to remain in place for the duration of work, approximately four months from now.
The underground construction is being performed with state jurisdiction under an NJDOT regional utility access permit.
